Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Ritn3D — pricing, features, file formats, sharing, and more.
General
Ritn3D takes a floor plan photo to walkable 3D interior in under two minutes. It runs at app.ritn3d.com and as native iOS and Android apps — the only floor plan to 3D tool built for phones, with one account across all three surfaces. Upload a floor plan (PDF, JPG, or PNG), review the auto-detected walls and rooms, and generate a 3D model you can orbit, walk through, and share via a live link that opens in any browser — no install, no login for the viewer.
Ritn3D runs as a web app at app.ritn3d.com — open it directly in your browser, no install required. Native apps are also available on iOS and Android for use on the go. Shared 3D models open in any web browser, so recipients never need to install anything.
On Ritn3D's internal benchmark set (tested June 2026 against a mix of input types with ground-truth wall counts): architectural PDFs from AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD, or SketchUp hit 90–95% first-pass accuracy, scanned blueprints of clean printed plans hit ~80%, and phone-camera photos of printed plans hit 75–85% depending on lighting and angle. Heavily annotated or low-resolution plans need more manual corrections. Hand-drawn floor plans are not currently supported. The review step before generating lets you fix anything the detection missed — so the final model always matches the layout you confirm.
Floor plan photo to walkable 3D interior in under two minutes. Processing time depends on the complexity of the plan — larger multi-room layouts may take slightly longer, but most single-family floor plans finish in 60–120 seconds.
Ritn3D is built for anyone who works with floor plans — real estate agents, architects, interior designers, homeowners, and builders. No technical expertise is needed to get started.
Pricing & Plans
Ritn3D has three tiers. Free: 3 renders/month, standard quality, bird's-eye view. Pro ($9.99/month): 20 renders, Full HD textures, walkthrough mode, no watermark, 90-day cloud sync — includes a 7-day free trial. Pro+ ($19.99/month): everything in Pro with 40 renders/month, 10 GLB/STL downloads per month for 3D printing and 3D tools, and commercial use rights — no free trial (the export tier is designed to prevent trial-then-download-and-cancel abuse).
Free gives you 3 renders per month with a bird's-eye view, standard textures, and up to 5 share views per project (with a Ritn3D watermark). Pro unlocks 20 renders per month, Full HD textures, walkthrough mode, no watermark, up to 50 share views per project, and 90-day cloud sync across devices.
Yes. Cancel anytime through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. No cancellation fees.
Pro subscriptions come with a 7-day free trial — cancel anytime during the trial and you will not be charged. Pro+ has no free trial by design (the export tier is where trial-then-download-and-cancel abuse hits; making it trial-free protects the pricing for everyone else). The Free tier lets you test the full pipeline (upload, detect, render, share) with 3 renders per month, no trial required.
Subscriptions are handled through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, so any payment method accepted by those stores works — credit/debit cards, carrier billing, gift cards, and more.
3D Printing
Yes — Ritn3D is the only floor plan converter that exports print-ready STL for 3D printing. Pro+ subscribers get 10 STL downloads per month. The STL is a single watertight mesh — open it in your slicer (Cura, PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer), choose a scale, and print. No manual mesh repair needed.
Pro+ is $19.99/month and includes everything in Pro with 40 renders per month, 10 GLB/STL downloads per month, and commercial use rights. Extra downloads are $3.99 each. It is designed for users who need physical scale models — 3D print shops, architects, and real estate agents producing keepsakes or presentation models.
You can export at 1:50, 1:100, 1:200, 1:350, or 1:500 — or enter a custom scale. The STL file is pre-scaled so you print without resizing in the slicer. A 1:100 single-floor model typically fits on a standard 220×220 mm print bed.
Download the STL and upload it to an online print service like Craftcloud, PCBWay, or JLC3DP. Many local libraries and makerspaces also offer 3D printing. Costs typically run $5–$20 per model depending on size and material.
Features
Walkthrough mode lets you orbit, rotate, and explore every room of your 3D model interactively — not just from above. It's included in the Pro plan.
Pro subscribers get 90-day cloud sync — your models are available across devices for 90 days. Free renders are available for 7 days after generation.
Pro+ subscribers can download their 3D models as GLB files — the standard format used by Blender, Unity, Unreal Engine, Sketchfab, and other 3D tools. GLB files preserve textures, lighting, and materials. Pro+ also includes STL export for 3D printing physical scale models.
Tap the share button on any saved project to generate a unique link. Recipients open it in any web browser and see your 3D model in an interactive viewer — no app install or login required.
Technical
Ritn3D accepts PDF floor plans, JPG images, and PNG images. Both digital and scanned floor plans work. Heavily annotated or low-resolution plans may need manual corrections in the review step. Hand-drawn floor plans are not currently supported.
Higher-resolution files produce better detection results. For scanned plans, 200 DPI or above is recommended. Blurry, cropped, or low-contrast images may require more manual corrections in the review step.
Yes. Your uploads are processed securely and never shared with third parties. Shared 3D model links are access-controlled and can be revoked at any time from within the app.
Currently, each upload generates a single-floor 3D model. For multi-story buildings, upload each floor separately. Multi-floor stitching is on the roadmap.
After detection, you can adjust walls, doors, windows, and room labels before generating the 3D model. This ensures the final result matches your floor plan even if the AI missed or misidentified elements.
